ACG Tauranga is the only school in the Bay of Plenty that offers the Cambridge curriculum from Primary level as an alternative to NCEA. This internationally recognised programme opens doors to the best universities in New Zealand and around the world, preparing students for bright futures.
What is the Cambridge curriculum?
Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14-16 year olds – and for good reason. With a strong focus on external examinations, the programme provides an internationally recognised framework with clear, measurable teaching structures and learning objectives. Taught from Primary level (where the focus is on Literacy, Numeracy and Science), the Cambridge curriculum culminates in IGCSE, AS and A-levels in Years 11-13.
Keeping abreast of change and innovative educational trends is what sets ACG Tauranga apart. By offering the Cambridge curriculum, we provide an education of the highest calibre, delivered by passionate teachers who are specialists in their subject fields. High achieving students are extended through accelerated learning, while our academic and co-curricular programmes provide all students with enriching experiences and opportunities.
Personalised approach to learning
Our personalised approach to learning enables students to flourish and reach their full potential.
We recognise that students have different learning styles, and we foster a student-centric approach to learning. Each programme – from academic subjects to the arts – is designed to allow for individual care and attention, ensuring students achieve their academic goals. This approach supports growth and confidence, and promotes a love of learning.
To succeed in the 21st century, students need to understand local and global issues, develop intercultural respect, and forge the skills to successfully compete not just in New Zealand, but on the worldwide stage. We need to prepare students for careers that may not even exist yet. They need to master new technologies, learn to take responsible risks, and develop critical and creative thinking skills.
Our role is to equip students with the skills they need for fulfilment and success in our global world.
