ACG Schools are delighted to announce our continued partnership with The Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Badminton Open, following last year’s sponsorship as a major partner.
The event takes place from 30 April – 5 May 2019 and features hundreds of high-quality international badminton players.
With both organisations deeply committed to supporting participation and community spirit, the partnership is an excellent fit, said ACG Schools CEO Clarence van der Wel.
“Badminton is one of the fastest-growing sports in New Zealand, and we see daily the physical, mental and academic benefits the sport brings to our students. We’re delighted to be connected to a national event that celebrates both sport and achievement and allows us to be involved in the wider community for the second year in a row.”
Badminton New Zealand Chief Executive Joe Hitchcock said he was excited to again be working with an innovative organisation that connects their passion for holistic education with badminton.
“It is fantastic to partner with ACG Schools, an organisation committed to unleashing the potential of young people to achieve great outcomes. Badminton New Zealand strives to do the same, through our grassroots to performance programmes and as evident in the excellence on show at our pinnacle event, the Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Badminton Open. We share a common goal to build inclusive communities that celebrate diversity and success.”
The Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Badminton Open takes place from the 30 April – 5 May 2019 and features hundreds of high-quality international badminton players competing for a share of the $150,000 USD prize money in the BWF Super 300 tournament.
This year will see the event’s best-ever entry numbers.
