ACG Tauranga Principal Thea Kilian recently contributed her perspective to the Bay of Plenty Times feature ‘Cambridge, NCEA, homeschooling or Te Kura: Choosing the right fit in the Bay of Plenty’, sharing her insights as an experienced education leader.

The feature considers the different educational pathways available to families across the Bay of Plenty. For Thea, the conversation also highlights the value of an internationally recognised curriculum that combines academic rigour with opportunities for students to develop independence, critical thinking and confidence.

The Cambridge advantage

At ACG Tauranga, we are proud to offer the Cambridge pathway - a rigorous, internationally recognised curriculum designed to challenge students and equip them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed beyond school.

Cambridge encourages students to think deeply, apply their knowledge and take increasing ownership of their learning. Its international recognition also provides students with a strong foundation for university study and future opportunities both in New Zealand and around the world.

For Thea, the strength of Cambridge is not simply the qualifications students achieve, but the way the curriculum can support them to become capable, curious and independent learners.

Her contribution to the Bay of Plenty Times article reflects the role she continues to play in the wider education conversation, bringing the perspective of a school leader who is passionate about providing students with an education that prepares them not just for their next step, but for the opportunities ahead.
